The second day we were in Sarajevo, we elected to take a day trip to Mostar, deep in the south of the country. Mostar is famous for having a pointy bridge that was blown up during the Yugoslav Wars. We took the bus from Sarajevo and arrived in Mostar within a few hours. Nice and easy. Mostar was a gorgeous town. The weather was sublime and we wandered around looking at all the old Bosniak architecture riddled with bullet holes. I was a little touristy by the bridge, but the rest of the town was peaceful and very enjoyable. Had lunch sitting by the bridge and stopped for coffees on one of the main drags. Mostar has a good vibe, you should definitely check it out!
