Round two for Thaipusam. Thorin was here this time with us, and we can't believe we've already been here for a whole year.
We do the same thing, get off at Little India Station, then go for dinner at our favorite place just a stone's throw away from one of the exits. Their food is delicious. Apparently, Lee Hsien Loong took the Indian prime minister here to eat a while back, but we had no idea that that was the reputation this place had.
We walk around for a bit just outside Serangoon road (main road connecting Farrer Park and Little India MRT), and then decide it's too crowded, so we have to navigate millions of people (or, what seems like millions) in Little India to a quiet street. As luck would have it, we ended up on a road where the parade passed through but there weren't many people around. Always fascinated by the piercings and dancing that occur on this day: a true testament to faith and religion.
Afterwards, we walk through the Bugis area to home, and we stumble upon these two guys who are singing songs in Cantonese, Chinese, Bahasa Melayu, and English. Pretty crazy! Not sure what the occasional was for, whether it was a flower festival or what, but they were jamming out, taking requests, and some of the aunties at first were breaking it down.
