I've always wanted to be involved in field work. When my boss presented me with an opportunity to conduct a discrete choice experiment in the Cambodian countryside in conjunction with an NGO, I jumped at the opportunity.

Cambodia is broken down into provinces, and these are further broken down into Operational Districts (OD). Within each OD, there are small health centers that screen for certain infectious diseases and provide basic health services. The main source of people-power to provide this care are volunteer health workers (VHSGs) that serve a village, or cluster of them. This project meant to look at what can incentivize these volunteer workers to encourage them to continue serving their community.

The entries are listed in chronological order and are marked by date. I've listed the ODs and health centers within each entry, with the map markers pin-pointing the ODs since I could not get coordinates for health centers. All names are anonymous and given single letter representations so as to protect privacy.

Lastly, if you ever get the chance, visit Cambodia. It's stunning, vibrant, and alive.
